Tour of Ulster

Ulster (Gaelic “Ulaidh”) is the northern most province in Ireland. It is home to a number of the top-rated courses, hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions in Ireland. Given the calibre of golf courses it is no surprise that this small area can boast 3 Major Champions in recent times. This is an exciting time for the province as the Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush in 2019, and the Irish open returns in 2018 to Ballyliffin after a successful tournament held at Portstewart in 2017. We would be delighted to show you some of these gems as well as the hidden secrets.

  • Royal County Down (Championship Course) – Golf Digest’s number one course in the world 2016. This is a “cannot be missed” course when visiting the North of Ireland. The Old Tom Morris designed course is set in the naturally beautiful Murlough Nature Reserve, against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne and the Irish Sea. The ninth hole is one of the most photographed holes in world golf. Come and see for yourself.
  • Royal Portrush (Dunluce Links) – Host of the 2019 Open Championship. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean the greens are scattered among huge sand dunes gently raised above the Antrim Coast providing vistas of sea, cliffs and islands.
  • Rossapena (Sandy Hills) – Situated in the beautiful County Donegal. Sandy Hills Links has been met with rave reviews and steadily climbed the rankings as it matures into one of the world’s finest modern links courses.
  • Ballyliffin (Glashedy Links & Old Links) – Set on the beautiful Inis Eoin peninsula in County Donegal, Ballyliffin is one of the very best 36-hole facilities in the world. The Glashedy links has been chosen to Host of the 2018 Irish Open.
  • Lough Erne – Set in the stunning Lakelands of County Fermanagh and designed by Nick Faldo. The links-like fairways, perfectly true greens and spectacular settings provide a stunning backdrop to the course. There are spectacular views from every vantage point and the waters of the Lough come into play on 11 of the 18 holes. Can you beat Rory McIlroys course record of 68?

  • Lough Eske castle – A multi award winning five-star castle hotel located on a secluded lakeside estate just outside Donegal Town, this stunning hotel has a rich history dating back to the 1400s.
  • Lough Erne - Lough Erne Resort, is a luxurious 5-Star hotel in Enniskillen, the gateway to North West Ireland.  Nestled on a 600 acre peninsula with spectacular views of the Fermanagh Lakelands and The Faldo Course, it's clear to see why Lough Erne Resort is renowned as one of the finest 5 Star hotels Northern Ireland has to offer.

  • Ox – Michelin Star Restaurant Ox, chef owner Stephen Toman uses imagination and creativity to help bring fresh ingredients to life on your plate. The riverside setting offers an excellent backdrop to this intimate restaurant.
